The club is officially affiliated with five Rotary clubs in the Nanaimo area and has Rotary advisors from each club that attend meetings. So Many Ideas!
January 26 2007
The club's focus for our next campaign is to target homelessness in the local community. Along with organizing our next project the club is participating in various local fundraising efforts such as Spuds and Duds and a Penny Drive to benefit AIDS orphans in Africa. Hopefully in the coming weeks we will have our campaign planned.
Your Move. Campaign 2006
October 27 2006
On October 21 2006, the Nanaimo Interact club held our first major fundraiser for our 2006 campaign which we entitled Your Move. The goal of the event was to raise funds to support AIDS orphans in Zimbabwe. The funds would provide students a monthly food allotment, pay for their school fees and new uniforms for school as well.
The event was a major success! We raised over nine thousand dollars in profit to support the orphans in Zimbabwe. Not only did we provide a huge assist to the students in Zimbabwe, but we raised general awareness of AIDS and how it impacts the lives of many - especially in Africa.
