We are a growing group of local youth who are trying to make a difference in the local and global communities through work and dedication to issues we feel strongly about. We are affiliated with the five Rotary Clubs of Nanaimo and our motto is the same as the Rotary motto worldwide, "Service Above Self".
We became an active group in the community after a few key members attended a conference in Washington state and decided that something needed to be done in the local community. With a cause in mind, our numbers began to grow as the planning for the Your Move. 2006 campaign began. Meetings became a weekly event for us as we got closer and closer to our campaign date. The goal of the Your Move. campaign was to raise funds for AIDS orphans in Zimbabwe - through which the Interact Club has connections through our five Rotary clubs in the Nanaimo area - and to raise awareness about the AIDS situation in Africa.
On February 6th 2007, we became an official Interact club.
In July 2007, the club officially changed hands as our graduating executive made way for the incoming 2007/2008 executive.
The new executive is currently working on the 2007 Your Move Campaign!

Interact clubs are Rotary International's service club for youth ages fourteen to eighteen. The Interact clubs are sponsored by individual Rotary clubs, which provide support and guidance, however all Interact clubs are self-governing and self-supporting.
Club membership varies greatly as they can be large and small. The membership base can be drawn from the student body of a single school or from two or more schools in the same community.
Each year, Interact clubs complete at least two community service projects, one which furthers international understanding and goodwill. Through projects, club members develop a network of friends with local and overseas clubs. And, in the process, club members also develop leadership skills and learn the value of hard work.
Interact clubs are one of the most significant and fastest-growing programs of Rotary service with more than 10,700 clubs in 109 countries and geographical areas, making Interact a worldwide phenomenon.
